Europol has announced a significant blow to organized cybercrime, coordinating an international operation that led to the arrest of 34 individuals linked to the notorious Black Axe crime group. This multi-country police action targeted members involved in various severe criminal activities, including Business Email Compromise (BEC) fraud, romance scams, and large-scale money laundering.

The operation, dubbed “Jackal,” saw law enforcement agencies from numerous nations collaborate to dismantle key components of the syndicate’s operations. The arrests took place across 16 countries, demonstrating the global reach of Black Axe and the necessity of international cooperation to combat such sophisticated networks. Among the countries involved were Austria, Belgium, Czechia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States, alongside law enforcement efforts in South Africa.
