According to on-chain data, wallets associated with SpaceX have transferred 2,100 Bitcoin (BTC), worth approximately $134 million, to previously unknown addresses. This transaction occurred on May 28, as reported by blockchain intelligence firm Arkham Intelligence.
Details of the On-Chain Transaction
The movement of funds was distributed between two new wallets. One transaction involved the transfer of 1,100 BTC, valued at around $70 million, from a primary address to a new wallet. A separate transaction saw an additional 1,000 BTC, worth approximately $64 million, moved to another new address.
This event follows a larger transfer in early March, when wallets linked to the company moved 4,000 BTC, valued at $274 million at the time of the transaction.
Context of Corporate Bitcoin Holdings
Based on available data, the combined Bitcoin holdings of SpaceX and Tesla are estimated to be 19,794 BTC, with a total value of over $1.3 billion. SpaceX is reported to hold approximately 10,074 BTC, while Tesla’s holdings amount to around 9,720 BTC. Tesla made a significant purchase of $1.5 billion in Bitcoin in 2021 and sold a large portion of its holdings in the second quarter of 2022.
